"Where animation meets games" – Reece Millidge an den GameTalks am 10. Mai in Stuttgart (Stadbibliothek)

Nächste Woche am Trickfilmfestival oder an  der FMX in Stuttgart? Oder einfach so in Stuttgart?
Falls ja, dann sollte man sich den Abend vom 10. Mai freihalten. Falls nein, dann kann das ja noch werden. Zu Gast bei den Stuttgarter GameTalks in der neuen Stadtbibliothek (das grosse neue viereckig Gebäude, wenn man in den Stuttgarter Bahnhof einfährt zur Rechten) ist der Engländer Reece Millidge. Millidge hat lange Zeit professionell im Bereich der Animation gearbeitet. Dieses Knowhow bringt er in beeindruckender Weise in seine grafisch wie spieltechnisch sehr ausgeklügelten Spiele ein. Reece Millidge gibt in seinem Vortrag  einen Einblick in den Entstehungsprozess von „Wonderputt“ (Nominiert am IGF in San Francisco) und zeigt darüber hinaus auf, was alles hinter dem Nachfolger von iCycle (Der Spieler ist als nackter Mann auf einem „Velöli“ in einer postapokalyptischen Eiszeitwelt unterwegs) steht. Dabei hält nur die Animation den Spieler warm.
„Where animation meets games“ ist eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart, dem Trickfilmfestival sowie der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste Gamedesign.
